Sealants

Examination :  The examination is a complete visual inspection of the oral cavity along with any necessary x-rays.  We will also do a screening for oral cancer and periodontal disease as part of our exam.

Cleaning (oral prophylaxis) :  A cleaning in our office is a preventative procedure that is important to have done every six months or more often if it is deemed necessary by your hygienist and dentist. Periodontal Therapy is also offered.

Sealants :  A sealant is a plastic resin material that is applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth or molars of children up to the age of 16.  This preventative treatment allows the dentist and hygienist to seal out plaque and food from the grooves and pits to prevent tooth decay.

Root Canal Therapy

Root Canal Therepy :  When the nerve in a tooth begins to die and decompose, the decomposed material tries to to leave the tooth and in most cases will present in the form of an abscess.  The abscess can cause infection, pain and sometimes swelling.  During the procedure, the dentist will drill and file out the nerves in all canals of the tooth and go to the tip of the root to remove the nerve.  The dentist will then place cavit in the tooth to fill the empty canals and stabilize the tooth.  In many cases after a root canal therapy a patient will need either a filling restoration or a crown.

Major Restorative

Crowns and Bridges :  The procedure for crowns and bridges are alot alike the dentist will take approximately 1/8 inch off sides and top of tooth.  The dentist will go around the edge of the tooth using a courser bit on the drill and this prepares for the assistant to pack the gums with cords.  A temporary crown will be made for the tooth and temporarly placed while we wait for our lab to make your permenant crown or bridge to be seated permanently a month later.

Partial Dentures or Complete Dentures :  These dentures are custom made for our patients to replace missing teeth.  The process can take anywhere from 8 to 10 weeks.  Patients will go through a series of impressions and a wax try in before taking delivery of denture.  We pride ourselves in making sure this process is done correctly so that the patient has an end product that lasts.
